A tragic collision between an SUV and a heavy trailer on the Tarda-Bharatmala road in Korba district, Chhattisgarh, claimed the life of a young man and left two others critically injured. The incident occurred as three company employees were traveling from Raipur to Korba late Thursday night.
The SUV collided with the trailer near Tarda, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Sadly, one occupant died on the spot, while the remaining two suffered severe injuries. Rescue teams had to use gas cutters to free the trapped victims from the wreckage before rushing them to the hospital.
The deceased, identified as 27-year-old Arun Kumar Yadav from Jharkhand, had been working in Raipur for two years and was married for three years. He leaves behind a wife and child. The injured individuals, Chandra Prakash Yadav from Raipur and Nagendra Sahu from Dhamtari district, were initially treated at Korba Medical College Hospital before being transferred to Raipur due to the seriousness of their injuries.
Investigation officer Rajesh Tiwari of Urga police station stated that a detailed probe has been launched to determine the cause of the collision, considering factors like speed, visibility, and road conditions at night. Preliminary findings suggest a sudden impact led to the accident, with overspeeding, mechanical issues, or poor visibility being examined as potential causes.
Authorities emphasize the risks of night travel on highways shared by heavy vehicles and cars, urging drivers to maintain safe speeds and exercise caution, especially during late hours. The Urga Police are actively investigating the case and have advised motorists to stay alert on the Tarda-Bharatmala route, known for significant trailer and commercial traffic.
