A young software engineer, Yuvraj Mehta, lost his life in a tragic accident in Noida’s Sector-150. The incident occurred at night in dense fog when his car crashed through a broken boundary wall and fell into a water-filled ditch. Yuvraj’s father, Rajkumar Mehta, has criticized the Noida Authority for alleged negligence in the matter.
Yuvraj Mehta reportedly called his father immediately after the accident, seeking help as he found himself in the waterlogged construction pit. Despite his efforts to signal his location using his mobile phone’s flashlight, rescue operations faced delays due to poor visibility and lack of proper equipment. Various teams, including police, fire brigade, and NDRF, were involved in the prolonged rescue efforts.
The rescue operation, lasting nearly four-and-a-half hours, saw a Flipkart delivery agent named Moninder attempting a daring rescue by jumping into the ditch. However, due to the pit’s depth and challenging conditions, the rescue attempt was unsuccessful. Yuvraj, a software engineer at Dunnhumby in Gurugram, hails from Sitamarhi district in Bihar and tragically lost his life in the accident.
Residents and family members have raised concerns over the lack of proper safety measures at the accident site, including barricading, warning signs, and lighting. Calls for accountability and enhanced safety infrastructure have intensified following this fatal incident.
