India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winner, Yuzvendra Chahal, made a strong start in the 20th DY Patil T20 Cup. He played a key role in Income Tax’s seven-wicket victory over Reliance on the tournament’s opening day at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Chahal’s impressive 4-11 restricted Reliance to 131 for nine in their 20 overs.
In another match at University Ground, Mumbai Customs defeated CGST by 35 runs. Later in the day, DY Patil Blue’s Karsh Kothari (4-31) and Arjun Tendulkar (3-34) starred with the ball, limiting Nirlon to 154 runs at the Stadium. Despite a shaky start in batting, Yash Dhull’s brilliant 64 off 32 balls guided DY Patil Blue to a four-wicket win over Nirlon.
At the University Ground, CAG dominated Jain Irrigation, securing a 10-wicket victory. Viswaraj Singh Jadeja (91 n.o.) and Aman Mokate (91 n.o.) led the charge as they chased down 191 runs with ease.
