Bollywood is abuzz with excitement as Shah Rukh Khan reunites with director Siddharth Anand for their much-anticipated film King. Following their massive success with Pathaan, the duo is back with a high-octane action thriller that promises to showcase SRK in a completely new avatar. And now, the project has roped in veteran actor Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role—as the mentor to Shah Rukh Khan’s character.

Anil Kapoor to Mentor SRK in King

In King, Shah Rukh Khan is set to portray a gritty, grounded assassin—one of his most raw and intense roles to date. Adding gravitas to the narrative, Anil Kapoor steps into the role of his handler and guide. Known for his magnetic screen presence and commanding performances, Kapoor is expected to bring a compelling edge to the storyline. Sources close to the film suggest that several actors were considered for the role, but the makers unanimously felt that Kapoor fit the bill perfectly. His recent collaborations with Siddharth Anand, including the film Fighter, have only added to the anticipation.

Romantic Sparks Between SRK and Deepika Padukone

While the action quotient is sky-high, King also promises emotional depth and romantic intrigue. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen opposite Deepika Padukone, with whom he shares an iconic on-screen chemistry. The two will be romantically paired in the film, bringing a layered and dynamic emotional arc to the otherwise intense plot.

A Star-Studded Ensemble Cast

Joining SRK, Deepika, and Anil Kapoor is an ensemble cast featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma in key roles. The casting has nearly been finalized, with the production team currently in its final pre-production stage. The film is poised to begin its first shooting schedule between May 18 and May 20 in Mumbai.

Grand Vision and Global Filming Schedule

King is being envisioned as a pan-Indian spectacle with global appeal. The film will be shot extensively over a 100-day schedule across India and Europe. The story is crafted with modern theatrical sensibilities, combining stylized action with emotional storytelling. Audiences can expect a blend of raw combat sequences and cinematic visual brilliance.

Musical Score by Sachin-Jigar and Anirudh

Music plays a pivotal role in Siddharth Anand’s films, and King is no exception. The film’s soundtrack is composed by the duo Sachin-Jigar, with Anirudh Ravichander handling the background score. Given their collective musical talent, fans can look forward to a power-packed album that complements the movie’s thrilling narrative.

Anticipated Release Window

The makers are eyeing a release date between October and December 2026, strategically placing King in the high-stakes festive season. With such a stellar lineup and an ambitious storyline, this movie is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the coming years.

Stay tuned for more updates on King, as Shah Rukh Khan gears up to redefine action and drama on the silver screen once again.
