Age Rating: U/A (Suitable for viewers above 13 years)
Genre: Action, Drama, Emotion

The much-awaited Salman Khan starrer Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, has finally hit the big screens as an Eid special. The film, which blends action, drama, and emotions, revolves around Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), a powerful and beloved figure in Rajkot, whose life takes a drastic turn due to a personal tragedy. With an engaging first half, powerful action sequences, and a heartwarming message at its core, Sikandar attempts to offer a complete entertainer for Salman Khan fans.

Plot Overview

Sanjay Rajkot is a revered figure in Rajkot, admired for his strength and compassion. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he clashes with Pradhan (Sathyaraj), a corrupt politician, and his son Arjun (Prateik Babbar). The tragedy that follows shakes Sanjay’s world, especially affecting his beloved wife, Saisri (Rashmika Mandanna).

As he embarks on a journey of redemption, Sanjay discovers that his wife’s organs have been donated to three different people. To honor her memory, he sets out to fulfill her last wishes. However, his path is riddled with challenges as Pradhan and Arjun stand in his way, leading to an intense battle of power, righteousness, and emotional depth.

What Works

✅ Salman Khan’s Commanding Performance
Salman Khan brings his signature charisma to the role of Sanjay Rajkot, blending action and emotion effortlessly. His larger-than-life presence elevates the film’s impact.

✅ Engaging First Half
The film starts strong with well-paced action, gripping drama, and emotional moments that keep the audience invested.

✅ Refreshing Theme of Organ Donation
Unlike typical action dramas, Sikandar incorporates a meaningful social message about organ donation, adding depth to the story.

✅ Powerful Supporting Cast
Actors like Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sanjay Kapoor deliver commendable performances, adding layers to the narrative.

✅ Impressive Cinematography & Background Score
Thirunavukarasu’s cinematography beautifully captures Rajkot’s regal atmosphere, and Santhosh Narayanan’s background score amplifies key emotional moments.

What Doesn’t Work

❌ Predictable Storyline
While the emotional beats are well-executed, the film follows a fairly predictable path, making some moments feel formulaic.

❌ Slow Pacing in the Second Half
The second half, though emotional, drags in places, affecting the overall pacing of the narrative.

Performances

  • Salman Khan (Sanjay Rajkot): Delivers a power-packed performance with his signature action and emotional depth.
  • Rashmika Mandanna (Saisri): Plays a pivotal role but doesn’t get enough screen time to make a lasting impact.
  • Sathyaraj (Pradhan): A strong antagonist, though his character could have been more menacing.
  • Prateik Babbar (Arjun): Delivers a decent performance but lacks a strong presence.
  • Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, Sanjay Kapoor: Provide solid support, elevating emotional and dramatic moments.

Technical Aspects

🎥 Cinematography: Grand visuals of Rajkot’s heritage and well-executed action sequences.
🎵 Music: Pritam’s songs are decent, but the background score by Santhosh Narayanan enhances emotional moments.
✂️ Editing: Could have been tighter, especially in the second half.
💡 Direction: AR Murugadoss handles action and drama well but could have improved pacing and character depth.

Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

Despite some pacing issues and a predictable storyline, Sikandar stands strong as a Salman Khan entertainer with action, emotions, and a socially relevant theme. Fans of mass cinema and family dramas will find it engaging. If you love Salman Khan’s larger-than-life action blended with heartfelt emotions, Sikandar is a must-watch!
