Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar Festival Announced! But Why is Everyone Talking About It?

A grand cinematic celebration is on the horizon! PVR INOX, India’s largest cinema exhibition company, has announced Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar, a special film festival honoring Bollywood’s perfectionist, Aamir Khan.

Age Rating: UA
Language: Hindi (with English subtitles in select screenings)

The festival, set to commence on March 14, coinciding with Aamir Khan’s birthday, will run until March 27. It promises to take audiences on a nostalgic journey through his most iconic films.

But here’s what has everyone talking—the grand unveiling of the festival’s trailer! At a star-studded press conference in Mumbai, Aamir Khan, Javed Akhtar, and PVR founder Ajay Bijli came together to launch the much-anticipated trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

What is Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar?

This unique film festival is a tribute to Aamir Khan’s illustrious career spanning decades. Known for his meticulous performances and groundbreaking films, the actor has consistently set new benchmarks in Indian cinema.

The festival will showcase his career-defining movies, giving fans the chance to relive the magic of his most memorable performances on the big screen.

Which Films Will Be Screened?

While the official list of films is yet to be released, sources hint that cult classics such as:

  • Lagaan (2001)
  • Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
  • Rang De Basanti (2006)
  • Taare Zameen Par (2007)
  • Ghajini (2008)
  • 3 Idiots (2009)
  • Dangal (2016)

…are expected to be part of the lineup.

Each film will be presented in its original Hindi language, with English subtitles available in select screenings.

What Happened at the Trailer Launch?

During the festival’s grand unveiling, veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar reflected on Aamir Khan’s journey, reminiscing about his early days in the industry and his risk-taking nature.

“Aamir did a film with Ashutosh Gowariker despite a past failure. He took a chance on Farhan Akhtar’s first film. And who would have dared to play an aging father who loses to his daughter in wrestling? Aamir has always chosen stories no one else would!” – Javed Akhtar

Aamir Khan also shared a heartfelt moment about how Farhan Akhtar believed in him so much that he never needed external validation for Dil Chahta Hai—a film that changed Bollywood forever.

Why This Festival is a Must-Watch

With a lineup of career-defining films, restored screenings, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content, this festival isn’t just for Aamir Khan fans—it’s for all cinema lovers.

Theatres across PVR INOX locations nationwide will host the screenings, giving audiences a chance to experience Aamir Khan’s timeless classics on the big screen once again.
