The release of Sonakshi Sinha’s much-anticipated psychological thriller Nikita Roy has been postponed. Initially slated to hit theatres on May 30, 2025, the film will now release on June 27, 2025. The update was confirmed by the actress herself via social media, building fresh anticipation among fans for this edge-of-the-seat thriller.

A Family Affair: Kussh Sinha’s Directorial Debut

Directed by Kussh Sinha, Sonakshi’s brother, Nikita Roy is a deeply personal project for the actress. The film not only marks Kussh Sinha’s directorial debut but also brings together an ensemble cast that promises intensity and substance. The star lineup includes Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and Suhail Nayyar in pivotal roles.

Speaking about the collaboration, Sonakshi shared,

“It was a great shoot and a very special one for me as I got to star in my brother’s first film. The fine ensemble inspired me to do more and better.”

Behind the Scenes: A 35-Day London Shoot

Nikita Roy was shot over a 35-day schedule in London, providing the perfect atmospheric backdrop for a psychological thriller. From the foggy streets to the eerie interiors, the film’s setting adds to its mysterious tone.

The production is backed by Nicky Bhagnani, Vicky Bhagnani, and Ankur Takrani under the banners of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Film, Kratos Entertainment, and Nikita Pai Films. The co-producers include Anand Mehta, Prakash Nand Bijlani, Shakti Bhatnagar, Mehnaaz Shaikh, and Prem Raj Joshi—a robust team aiming to deliver quality content.

What to Expect from Nikita Roy

Described as a psychological thriller, the movie is expected to delve deep into themes of trust, paranoia, and the human mind’s darker corridors. Though the exact plot has been kept under wraps, early glimpses suggest a suspense-driven narrative anchored by Sonakshi’s intense performance.

Her comment, “Catch the suspense unfold on the big screen,” has only added to the buzz.

Sonakshi’s Expanding Cinematic Universe

While Nikita Roy builds excitement in Bollywood circles, Sonakshi is also stepping into Tollywood with Jatadhara, a supernatural fantasy thriller directed by Venkat Kalyan and co-starring Sudheer Babu, Shilpa Shirodkar, Rain Anjali, and Divya Vij.

With two vastly different roles coming up, 2025 seems to be a dynamic year for Sonakshi as she pushes her artistic boundaries across genres and industries.

As the new release date of Nikita Roy draws closer, fans are eager to see Sonakshi Sinha take on a gritty, psychological role in a film that’s as personal as it is professional. With strong backing, a capable director, and a promising cast, this film is one to mark on your calendar.
