Parineeti Chopra steps into the newsroom in Reporting Live, a Hindi investigative thriller now streaming on Netflix. Directed by debutant Dhruv Tripathi, the film follows an ambitious field reporter and her cameraman as a bridge collapse leads them into the illegal sand-mining trade. With Deven Bhojani, Amol Palekar and Adil Hussain alongside her, it turns a real-world issue into a tight 1 hour 56 minute watch.

Reporting Live is a compact, well-intentioned investigative thriller that puts journalism and organised crime on a collision course. Parineeti Chopra leads with conviction as reporter Sandhya Yadav, and Deven Bhojani gives her a warm, grounded partner in cameraman Vinod Sharma. Dhruv Tripathi keeps the story lean, the visuals dark and atmospheric, and the supporting cast strong. It is a timely and watchable Netflix thriller.

Plot Summary

Sandhya Yadav is a fearless reporter who wants her big break on prime time. Her cameraman Vinod Sharma is more reluctant, but he backs her. Their chance arrives when a bridge collapses in the fictional town of Visargaon and a bus carrying children falls into the river.

What first looks like an accident soon points to something bigger. Their search for answers leads them to Shiva Kaka, who exposes the scale of illegal sand mining in the area. As they dig deeper, Sandhya and Vinod find themselves up against a ruthless syndicate that will do anything to keep the truth buried.

Performances

Parineeti Chopra as Sandhya Yadav: Chopra carries the film with conviction. Her Sandhya is ambitious, fearless and driven, and Chopra makes you root for her from the first scene. After her turn in Shaque, this confident return to OTT shows how comfortable she is as a leading lady.

Amol Palekar as Shiva Kaka: Palekar leaves a strong impression with quiet authority. He commands attention without raising his voice, and his scenes are among the film’s most memorable.

Adil Hussain: Hussain is effective and adds real weight to the story. He is one of Indian cinema’s most dependable actors, and he lifts every scene he appears in.
