Our story begins in 1982 – back before Devon Street, aka “Little India”, had taken root and become one of America’s most celebrated ethnic neighborhoods. We wanted to create a vegetarian restaurant that not only had excellent food, but brought vegetarian cooking to the masses. Fast forward 33 years later — Annapurna is Chicago’s oldest and most well-known Vegetarian restaurants.

Annapurna Indian Simple Vegetarian is a relaxed and welcoming cafe that offers a diverse range of vegetarian Indian dishes, as well as a delectable assortment of take-out snacks and desserts.
