Chaska in Marietta has all the right ingredients on the surface—beautiful decor, a clean and inviting interior, and a diverse menu that promises a journey across India’s culinary map. From North Indian staples to South Indian favorites, Indo-Chinese dishes, and colorful desserts like Falooda, the options are plenty and enticing.
But sadly, the experience on the plate doesn’t quite match the promise on paper.
We visited for their weekend special—Makke di Roti and Sarson da Saag—hoping for that earthy, homestyle Punjabi flavor. What we got instead was a letdown. The Saag tasted more like a mustard chutney—thin, bland, and missing the richness it deserves. The Makke di Roti was dry and underwhelming.
We’ve had a better experience with their Dal Baati Churma specials in the past—probably the one bright spot that keeps us checking in occasionally. But this time, the rest of the food didn’t do them any favors.
The North Indian dishes lacked authenticity and flavor. The naan tasted like it came straight from a grocery store freezer, and the Gobi Manchurian in gravy form was an absolute miss—soggy and flavorless, more like Manchurian drowned in water.
The only dish that slightly redeemed the meal was the Uttapam. The texture was decent and the Sambar was flavorful—comforting and well-spiced.
Final Verdict:
Chaska has a lovely setup and a tempting menu, but the execution needs serious improvement, especially for North Indian and Indo-Chinese items. Right now, it feels like a place full of potential but missing consistency where it matters most—the food.
Great ambiance. Good concept. But the kitchen needs to step up before it becomes a go-to destination.
