Profile
Welcome to Hindu Temple Canteen, located in the heart of Queens, NY. With the grace and blessings of Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati, our canteen was established in 1993 with the primary purpose of preparing “naivedyam” (food offerings) for the deities, adhering to the sacred guidelines of agama sastras.
Our canteen quickly became a beloved spot for devotees, who were drawn to the authentic South Indian cuisine we offer. From the fluffy idlis and crispy dosas to the savory pongal, upma, sambar, and chutneys, every dish is crafted to deliver the traditional flavors and tastes that remind our patrons of home.
Thanks to the overwhelming encouragement and support from our devotees, the canteen grew rapidly. In 1998, we moved to our current, more spacious location within the community center, allowing us to serve even more guests and continue our mission of providing delicious, authentic South Indian food.
At Hindu Temple Canteen, we are dedicated to preserving the culinary heritage of South India and offering a welcoming space for the community to gather, enjoy good food, and share in the blessings of Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati. Join us for a meal and experience the rich flavors and cultural traditions of South Indian cuisine.
