Celebrating Lammas: Embracing the Harvest Festival
As we embrace the warmth of summer and the turning of the seasonal wheel, it is time to honor the ancient Celtic festival of Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh. This festival celebrates the bountiful first harvest, expressing gratitude for the abundance of the Earth and the blessings within our lives.
Significance of Lammas
Lammas is traditionally observed around August 1st in the Northern Hemisphere, symbolizing the midpoint between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox. Beyond its agricultural roots, this festival holds profound spiritual significance. Our ancestors viewed it as a transitional period, signaling the onset of the harvest season and the gradual shift towards autumn as daylight wanes and nature’s growth slows.
Cacao Ceremony and Transition
During this ceremonial gathering, we will honor this transitional phase and contemplate the support needed for our journey. This may involve releasing energetic, emotional, or physical aspects to facilitate a smooth transition. The ceremony encompasses various elements, including cacao consumption, oracle card readings, guided meditation, grounding breathwork, and reflective journaling. The session culminates in a rejuvenating yoga nidra, a guided conscious sleep meditation.
About Cacao and its Healing Properties
Cacao, utilized in rituals for millennia, offers gentle yet transformational healing properties. Acting as a heart opener, it encourages a deeper connection with our inner wisdom. The experience is both relaxing and nourishing, enhancing meditation practices and fostering introspection. The cacao used is of premium quality, raw, organic, and meticulously prepared with reiki energy and intention.
