PARIS SUMMER TAP: An Exciting Tap Dance Experience
PARIS SUMMER TAP stands out as a premier event in Europe for tap dance aficionados. Originating in Barcelona at the renowned Jimmy Slyde Institute, founded by the esteemed Franco-New Yorker choreographer Roxane Butterfly, this annual grand stage has been a magnet for budding tap artists worldwide since 2012, welcoming both amateurs and seasoned professionals. Delving into the rich tapestry of tap dance culture, participants at PARIS SUMMER TAP not only strengthen their grasp of technical fundamentals but also immerse themselves in the historical evolution and diverse artistic influences shaping tap dance from its inception to the contemporary scene.
Featured Artists and Schedule Highlights
This year, the program promises an extraordinary three-day immersion at the confluence of jazz rhythms and the vibrant beats of South American and Native American traditions. Brazilian choreographer Valeria Pinheiro from the VATA company in Fortaleza and Guyanese dancer Tamangoh, director of URBAN TAP CENTER INTERNATIONAL in Kourou, will join Roxane Butterfly, adding unique flavors to this tap dance extravaganza.
