Jeera Rice (Cumin Rice)

  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Garlic – 2 cloves, chopped

  • Tomato – 1, chopped
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Oil or ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 3 cups

Steps:

  1. Boil dal with turmeric and water until soft.
  2. In another pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, garlic, onion, and tomato.
  3. Cook until soft, then pour this tempering into the dal.

Roti (Indian Flatbread)

Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat flour – 2 cups

  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste

Steps:

  1. Dry roast semolina until light golden. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, then onion and chili.
