A total of 103 individuals succumbed to mosquito-borne diseases in Pakistan’s Sindh in 2025, with 23 fatalities occurring at a Karachi hospital due to malaria. Data from four hospitals, including Indus Hospital and Aga Khan University Hospital, revealed discrepancies in the death toll reported by the provincial health department. The hospitals recorded 8,883 dengue cases, resulting in 40 deaths, and 2,719 malaria cases, with 23 deaths attributed to the parasitic illness.

Sources indicated that 941 cases of mosquito-borne diseases were documented, encompassing 651 dengue cases and 290 malaria cases. While 14 deaths were linked to dengue fever, no fatalities were reported for malaria at the hospitals. Despite official figures reporting 20,502 dengue fever cases with 33 deaths and 283,140 malaria cases with no fatalities in Sindh, sources highlighted challenges in transparent data collection, suggesting a more significant health crisis than officially acknowledged.
