13 foreign nationals lost their lives, and around 22 others were injured in a tragic fire incident in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The MEA is working with the respective embassies to offer necessary support, including documentation and medical aid.
According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the deceased foreign nationals belonged to countries such as Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, Liberia, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Congo, and Iraq. The MEA is coordinating with local authorities to assist with paperwork and medical needs for the affected individuals.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the incident and announced financial aid of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased. He also pledged Rs 50,000 for the injured, wishing them a speedy recovery.
The fire, which occurred at the Lemon Green Restaurant in Malviya Nagar, claimed 21 lives and left numerous others wounded. The PMO extended condolences to the victims’ families and assured support for those affected by the tragedy.
