In a significant achievement for Jammu and Kashmir, 16 candidates from the region have secured a place in the final select list of the All India Civil Services Examination 2025. The successful candidates, including Suvan Sharma, Towseef Ahmad Ganie, and others, have brought joy to their families and communities. This marks the first time that Jammu and Kashmir has seen 16 candidates make it to the final selection list of this competitive exam.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended a total of 958 candidates for various services, such as IAS, IFS, and IPS. The results were declared following written exams in August 2025 and interviews conducted between December 2025 and February 2026. The selected candidates represent a diverse range of categories, with 317 from the general category, 104 from economically weaker sections, and others from OBC, SC, and ST categories.
Anuj Agnihotri from Kota, Rajasthan, a doctor by profession, has secured the top rank in the Civil Services Examination 2025 in his third attempt. The UPSC has also maintained a reserve list of 258 candidates. The examination cycle reported a total of 1,087 vacancies across various services, with significant vacancies in IAS, IFS, IPS, and central services Group-A and Group-B. The candidature of recommended candidates is subject to verification, with some results being provisional and a few withheld.
