A 20-year-old terror accused named Abdul Rahman was fatally attacked by another inmate at Faridabad district jail. The incident occurred late Sunday night when Abdul Rahman was assaulted with a sharp object, leading to his death. The attacker, identified as Arun Chaudhary, a Kashmiri youth also imprisoned in the same jail, struck Abdul Rahman on the head with the sharp object, causing fatal injuries.
Abdul Rahman, a resident of Milkipur in Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended on March 2, 2025, near Pali village with two hand grenades in his possession. Authorities suspected his involvement in a plot to carry out a terror attack in Ayodhya. Following his arrest in a joint operation by the Gujarat Special Task Force (STF) and the Haryana STF, Abdul Rahman was detained in Faridabad jail as investigations into the broader terror network continued. The two hand grenades found on him were safely defused, averting a potential threat.
After the attack, Abdul Rahman was promptly taken for medical treatment but was pronounced dead by doctors. Subsequently, security measures within the jail were heightened, and senior officials visited to evaluate the situation. The accused inmate, Arun Chaudhary, has been detained for further interrogation in connection with the murder. Authorities are probing the motive behind the killing and examining whether any security oversights within the jail facilitated the assault.
A case has been filed concerning the murder, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the incident. Officials have assured that a thorough inquiry is in progress, and appropriate measures will be taken based on the investigation’s outcomes.
