The 2026-27 academic session in Rajasthan’s government schools is set to begin on April 1 with the launch of Praveshotsav 2026. This campaign aims to boost enrollment, reduce dropouts, and ensure every child’s connection to education. The Education Department has made all necessary arrangements and issued guidelines to ensure a seamless implementation, emphasizing the importance of bringing every child into the educational mainstream.
Teams consisting of Anganwadi workers, teachers, school staff, and local representatives will conduct a door-to-door outreach campaign from March 27 to April 15 to identify and enroll children aged 3 to 18 years. This extensive effort seeks to ensure that no child is left out of the education system and to raise awareness about schooling in every household.
A Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) has set a solid foundation for the campaign, with Education Minister Madan Dilawar and other officials personally visiting schools to review preparations and facilitate dialogue between parents and teachers. Teaching activities will kick off from the first day of the session, supported by timely distribution of textbooks to districts by March 25 and completion by April 1, ensuring a focus on “learning from day one” in government schools.
A digital health check-up campaign will commence on April 16 to promote holistic development, including regular health screenings and medical support for students. Special academic activities in May will enhance foundational learning and overall educational outcomes. The government schools in Rajasthan have witnessed notable enhancements in recent years, offering trained teachers, improved infrastructure, smart classrooms, ICT labs, sports facilities, vocational education, and digital libraries, along with scholarships and incentive schemes to motivate students for better performance.
The Education Department is urging officials to work diligently to prevent any child from missing out on education. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children in nearby government schools, with a focus on admitting 5 to 6-year-olds into Class 1, especially those transitioning from Anganwadi centers. With the theme “Education Begins with the Start of the Academic Session,” Praveshotsav 2026 is evolving into a statewide movement in Rajasthan, aiming to enroll every child, reach every household, and strengthen the state’s educational foundation.
