A 21-year-old woman was discovered hanging at her home in North Delhi’s Azadpur area, following her participation in the NEET-UG exam on May 3, which was canceled due to a suspected paper leak. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the motive behind her actions.
The police were alerted when a girl’s body was taken to a cremation ground without prior notification, prompting suspicions from the attending priest who then contacted the authorities. The deceased, identified as Anshika Pandey, was swiftly taken for a post-mortem examination at BJRM Hospital Mortuary.
Anshika Pandey, a resident of Lal Bagh in Azadpur, allegedly took her own life by hanging herself at her residence. Despite the absence of a suicide note, investigations are ongoing, with the police exploring all angles of the case.
Another NEET candidate, Ritik Mishra, reportedly died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri. The NEET-UG re-examination has been rescheduled for June 21, following the initial cancellation due to the paper leak scandal.
The Central Bureau of Investigation is currently handling the probe into the alleged NEET question paper leak, having conducted raids in various states and apprehended seven suspects in connection with the case.
