A 21-year-old youth was tragically beheaded in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred in the Tikaitnagar police station area. The victim, identified as Bablu from Para Behata village, was attacked by a local resident named Shankar during an argument while selling ice.
The accused, Shankar, in a fit of rage, used a sharp weapon to sever Bablu’s head in public. Shockingly, instead of fleeing, Shankar carried the victim’s severed head to his house. The police, upon receiving the information, cordoned off the village and apprehended the accused.
Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya oversaw the operation. When police arrived at Shankar’s house, they found him cooking with the victim’s severed head beside him. The accused was arrested, and the victim’s head, along with the murder weapon, was recovered. The authorities suspect the crime may be linked to insanity and a personal dispute, but investigations are ongoing.
In a similar incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district, another 21-year-old youth had beheaded two elderly neighbors and injured two others. This act was allegedly in response to suspicions of witchcraft causing his wife’s miscarriage.
