A thrilling T20 Mumbai League match saw ARCS Andheri, led by Shivam Dube, lose to Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs by seven runs at Wankhede Stadium. Andheri, chasing 172, were in control until a collapse in the final overs, with Ankur Singh’s 4/39 spell turning the game around. Despite a strong start, Andheri faltered as key players like Divyaansh Sksena and Musheer Khan fell early, leaving them struggling at 18/2.
In a bid to recover, Ayush Jethwa and Prasad Pawar steadied the innings with a vital 58-run partnership. Pawar’s composed 54 off 39 balls, including three fours and two sixes, showcased his consistency. However, the Tigers fought back with Naman Pushpak and Shams Mulani taking crucial wickets, putting pressure on Andheri. Skipper Dube’s aggressive 25 off 13 balls seemed to put Andheri back in control before a late collapse led to their defeat.
Earlier, Aakash Tigers MWS, after a shaky start, posted 171/6 with Ajit Yadav’s fluent 55 being the highlight. Despite a promising start, regular wickets hindered them from a bigger total. Ajay Mishra’s 2/18 and Dube’s 1/31 were notable performances for Andheri in the bowling department.
In the upcoming match, Shardul Thakur’s Eagle Thane Strikers will face table-toppers North Mumbai Panthers, captained by Ajinkya Rahane, at Wankhede Stadium.
