Aam Aadmi Party MP Malvinder Singh Kang has called on the BJP to apologize unconditionally for circulating cartoons on social media that depict Guru Sahib and the Sahibzadas. Kang criticized the BJP for this act during the sacred days honoring the martyrdom of Mata Gujri and the Chhote and Bade Sahibzadas, which are revered by the Sikh community.
Kang expressed deep offense at the BJP’s actions, stating that such behavior mocks the most sacred figures of Sikh history. He emphasized that this insensitivity is a direct insult to Sikh beliefs and demonstrates the BJP’s lack of respect for religious sentiments. Kang demanded a clear public apology from the BJP leadership, warning that failure to do so would reinforce the perception of the party’s disdain for the Sikh faith.
The AAP MP also raised concerns about the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (SGPC) silence on the matter, urging immediate action. Kang stressed that the SGPC’s inaction in the face of such a serious insult sends the wrong message and prompts uncomfortable questions. Meanwhile, the BJP had released a video on Monday honoring the courage of the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh.
