Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj has refuted allegations of disclosing a minor sexual assault victim’s identity. He clarified that the accusations stemmed from revealing the school’s name, which has ties to the BJP. The Delhi Police filed a First Information Report against Bharadwaj in response.
Bharadwaj emphasized that he did not disclose any personal details of the victim or her family. He highlighted that the cases against him were due to naming the school where the incident occurred. The AAP leader mentioned facing three registered cases related to raising awareness about a three-year-old rape victim.
Furthermore, Bharadwaj criticized the swift bail granted to the main accused, a 57-year-old caretaker, and a female teacher. He alleged BJP’s influence within the school’s board and questioned their motives. Bharadwaj expressed concerns about the safety of the students and criticized the lack of government and police action in ensuring their well-being.
The incident in question involved the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl at a crematorium in Delhi Cantonment in 2021. Bharadwaj condemned the crime on social media, highlighting the vulnerability of young victims and the need for justice.
