The President of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, has called on the BJP-led Central government to ensure that incidents of paper leaks do not recur. This plea follows the tragic suicide of a 20-year-old female student in north Delhi’s Azadpur area, shortly after the NEET-UG 2026 exam was rescheduled to June 21 due to alleged paper leak. Bharadwaj, an AAP leader, visited the victim’s family and emphasized the need for the government to address the issue openly and prevent such incidents in the future.
Bharadwaj expressed sorrow over the student’s death, noting her aspirations to secure admission in a reputable medical college and her distress upon discovering the leaked paper after the exam. He stressed the importance of halting such malpractices and holding accountable those responsible for the leaks to prevent further tragedies among NEET aspirants. The AAP leader criticized the authorities for their handling of the situation, questioning the credibility of the arrests made in connection with the case and urging transparency in addressing such serious matters.
The tragic incident has raised concerns about the mental health and well-being of NEET aspirants, with reports emerging of similar suicides in different locations. Bharadwaj urged the government to take concrete steps to reassure the youth, emphasizing the need for swift action to prevent paper leaks and ensure the integrity of competitive exams. The family of the deceased student, Anshika Pandey, is under scrutiny by the police for their handling of the situation, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding her death.
