Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) presented a “rights-based” manifesto for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections. The manifesto, named “Adhikar Patra,” was introduced by AAP leaders in Ahmedabad. The party’s focus is on delivering nine key rights to the residents through a promise of corruption-free governance.
AAP highlighted the importance of utilizing the AMC’s substantial budget of Rs 18,508 crore for providing quality education, healthcare, roads, and sanitation. The party expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and claimed that their candidates were facing opposition during campaigning in various cities.
The manifesto emphasizes transparency, basic services, health, education, mobility, environment, employment, welfare, and digital governance. AAP aims for clean, transparent governance with online decision-making processes, live public audits, and a strict grievance redressal timeline. Infrastructure proposals include 24/7 potable water supply, smart water management, drainage network modernization, and waterlogging solutions.
