Acting on the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s directions, the ACB Outpost in Dholpur successfully conducted a trap operation, leading to the arrest of Ramesh Kumar, a Junior Assistant at Ratanpur Gram Panchayat, caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The complaint alleged that Kumar demanded the bribe for issuing a muster roll under the MGNREGA scheme and was withholding work until payment was made.
Govind Gupta, the ACB Director General of Police, confirmed the complaint’s discreet verification on June 1, 2026, which established the accused’s demand for a bribe of Rs 25,000. Under the supervision of Omprakash Meena, Deputy Inspector General of Police (ACB) (Bharatpur Range), a trap operation was carried out by a team led by Gyanchand, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Dholpur ACB Outpost, resulting in Kumar’s arrest.
The trap operation led to Kumar being caught red-handed accepting the bribe, which was recovered from his pocket at the time of arrest. The Inspector General of Police (ACB), S. Parimala, is overseeing further proceedings, with a case registered under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, as investigations continue. In a separate incident in Dholpur, the ACB arrested Halka Patwari Virendra Sharma for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in exchange for a land transfer.
