Activist Sonam Wangchuk, currently hospitalized at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, has requested permission to leave temporarily and participate in the “Sansad Chalo March.” Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike, expressed his well-being in a letter to the hospital director, citing normal health parameters.

The protest, aimed at demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over examination irregularities, attracted thousands of supporters to Jantar Mantar. Clashes erupted between demonstrators and police as security measures intensified to control the crowd’s movement.

Amid heavy security deployment and barricades, protesters, including students, attempted to breach the security cordon, leading to confrontations with law enforcement. Police resorted to using force, including a lathi charge, to maintain order and prevent protesters from accessing restricted areas.
