The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Sabarimala gold heist case questioned actor Jayaram at his residence in Chennai. Jayaram’s confirmation that the gold plates meant for Sabarimala were brought to his home supports the claim that temple assets were moved without authorization.
Investigators clarified that Jayaram is not facing legal action currently, as he had no financial dealings with the main accused or others involved. Jayaram’s interactions with the prime accused were reportedly based on faith and religious matters.
Jayaram, who has been associated with Sabarimala for decades, stated that he participated in rituals involving the gold plates as advised by the prime accused. He emphasized that he was unaware of any financial wrongdoing related to the gold plates.
The SIT views Jayaram’s testimony as crucial in establishing the movement and public display of the gold plates outside the temple premises. With Jayaram’s willingness to testify in court, his account is deemed significant in the investigation.
