The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) announced that actor-turned-politician Vijay will join a special Iftar gathering in Mamallapuram this evening as part of Ramzan observances. The event, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a hotel, will host selected invitees from across the state. Vijay, in his capacity as the party President, will attend the Iftar programme organized in connection with the holy month of Ramzan.
The gathering, positioned as a gesture of solidarity towards the Muslim community during the fasting and prayer period, will strictly adhere to indoor event protocols with prior Election Commission permission due to the ongoing election period and Model Code of Conduct. Participation has been limited to 1,000 individuals, with entry restricted to invited guests only.
To ensure smooth conduct and avoid overcrowding, the party has urged supporters and the public not to gather at the venue without valid invitations. The event, expected to blend religious observance with political messaging, is part of Vijay’s outreach efforts ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, with various parties engaging with diverse communities in the pre-poll phase.
