Actress Elnaaz Norouzi shared her experiences of growing up in Iran and attending school there during a recent interview. She expressed gratitude for the opportunities she found in Germany and India, highlighting the freedom and support she enjoys in India as a democratic country.
Norouzi revealed that in Iran, school children are required to chant ‘death to America’ before starting their classes. Having lived under oppression, she contrasted her past experiences with the freedom she now experiences in India, where she feels grateful for the daily opportunities.
Despite her appreciation for India, Norouzi expressed a desire to visit her family in Iran once the situation improves, although she acknowledged that her outspoken views against the government currently prevent her from doing so. She emphasized the importance of being able to freely express her opinions in India, contrasting it with the restrictions she would face in Iran.
Norouzi also highlighted the issue of political prisoners in Iran, noting the severe consequences faced by those who speak out against the government. She called attention to the ongoing challenges faced by the Iranian people, urging awareness of the situation and the impact of the regime on civilians.
