Actress Surbhi Chandna, known for co-producing the series ‘Ishk Dum Aur Idli Rasam’, expressed that the show’s essence lies in honoring love, family, and tradition.
Set in a struggling heritage South Indian restaurant, the series delves into themes of food, family, memory, and emotional legacy. The narrative revolves around Meera Nair, portrayed by Shiny Doshi, a chef who views food as a means of service, comfort, and duty rather than a spectacle.
Surbhi Chandna shared her excitement about the project, emphasizing the show’s warmth, simplicity, and emotional depth in storytelling. She highlighted the personal significance of the series and her strong connection to its creative vision.
The show also stars Nehalaxmi Iyer, Aman Singh, Prerna Sehjpal, Vijayalaxmi Gurav, and Karan Khanna, alongside Abhishek Kumar, who plays Arjun Thakur, a chef-investor pivotal to the storyline.
Abhishek Kumar described ‘Ishk Dum Aur Idli Rasam’ as a departure from conventional romance or chef dramas, emphasizing its unique exploration of people through food. He expressed enthusiasm for his challenging role as Arjun, noting the character’s complexity and emotional depth.
The series, a Balaji Telefilms production executed by Surbhi Chandna of Feel Good Studios, is scheduled to premiere on YouTube on May 11.
