Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) announced a 27% year-on-year rise in its operational renewable energy capacity, reaching 20.1 GW in the June quarter. This surge led to AGEL achieving its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA of Rs 4,122 crore, driven by strong capacity additions and increased energy sales. The company’s operational renewable energy capacity now stands at 20,142 MW, reflecting a significant growth from the previous year.

Commenting on the results, AGEL’s CEO Ashish Khanna highlighted the company’s solid start in FY27, attributing it to disciplined execution that helped surpass the 20 GW operational capacity milestone. He also noted the positive impact of the improving power demand in India on their performance. Khanna emphasized that AGEL’s expanding renewable energy portfolio played a crucial role in meeting the nation’s clean energy needs efficiently.

During the quarter, AGEL added 848 MW of renewable energy capacity, with greenfield capacity additions totaling 4,327 MW over the past year. This capacity expansion translated into remarkable financial results, with EBITDA from power supply increasing by 33% year-on-year to Rs 4,122 crore, marking a historic high for the company. Additionally, the EBITDA margin improved to an industry-leading 94% from 93% in the same quarter last year.

AGEL reported a 29% year-on-year revenue increase from power supply, amounting to Rs 4,280 crore, while cash profit surged by 28% to Rs 2,225 crore during the April-June period. Energy sales also saw a significant uptick, rising by 30% year-on-year to 13,657 million units, supported by enhanced operational capacity and growing electricity demand.
