Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, highlighted the importance of India’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution benefiting ordinary citizens, workers, and small businesses. Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry’s ‘Annual Business Summit 2026,’ Adani stressed the need for AI to enhance productivity, create jobs, and empower small enterprises. He drew parallels with the success of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in democratizing access and creating new economic opportunities.
Adani emphasized the necessity for India to develop a comprehensive AI ecosystem, including energy infrastructure, data centers, compute facilities, networks, applications, and AI-integrated skilling programs. He underlined the role of technicians, electricians, and skilled workers in supporting the physical infrastructure of the digital economy. Adani cautioned against relying on externally controlled digital systems and advocated for India to build and own its intelligence infrastructure domestically.
Highlighting the significant investments required, Adani mentioned the Adani Group’s $100 billion commitment to clean energy, digital infrastructure, and data centers. He also noted partnerships with tech giants like Google and Microsoft to establish sovereign compute capacity in India. Adani reflected on his journey of building projects in challenging environments, emphasizing that the future is not predetermined but constructed through effort.
Adani envisioned a new era where freedom will be defined by self-reliance in powering, computing, and dreaming. He called for India to lead in creating its digital future, asserting the importance of owning and controlling essential infrastructure for intelligence and innovation.
