Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, highlighted a growth plan focused on worker well-being, local job creation, and entrepreneurship. The conglomerate, with over 700 assets in 24 states and nearly 400,000 employees, partners, and contractors, aims to assess progress based on assets built, livelihoods supported, and communities empowered. Adani emphasized the crucial role of the workforce in nation-building, stating that completing projects shapes the country’s future.
The Group’s strategy includes prioritizing local hiring at project sites, providing opportunities to nearby communities first. Worker welfare is a key aspect, with plans for air-conditioned accommodation for 50,000 workers and a centralized kitchen serving nutritious meals in Mundra, Gujarat. Adani stressed the importance of dignified living and working conditions for all employees.
To enhance decision-making and project execution, a three-layer organizational structure is being introduced. This model aims to streamline processes, increase accountability, and expedite site-level decisions. Adani also mentioned a strengthened partnership approach with fewer, larger contractors to improve coordination and project delivery speed.
The Group’s evolving contractor engagement model focuses on fostering long-term partnerships with reliable partners. Adani emphasized the transition towards grassroots entrepreneurship, citing success stories like Hadhubhai Rabari’s evolution into a significant local employer. Additionally, the Adani skills center will facilitate skill development and career progression for workers, reflecting the Group’s commitment to internal growth opportunities.
Linking key projects to national development, including Mundra port and the Ganga Expressway, Adani emphasized their role in enhancing India’s logistics and infrastructure. These initiatives, viewed as instruments of national progress, align with India’s long-term growth objectives. The Group’s efforts aim to create a more agile, inclusive, and execution-oriented organization in line with the country’s growth vision.
