Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed commitment to enhancing ties with Bhutan, focusing on sustainability and long-term value. Adani praised the energy collaboration with Bhutan, highlighting the significance of the partnership. He lauded Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative, led by King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, as a testament to the country’s dedication to mindful and sustainable development.

In a notable move towards bolstering the energy partnership, Adani Group signed an MoU for 5,000 MW of hydropower and initiated the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydro Electricity Project. Adani acknowledged the presence of Prime Minister Dasho @tsheringtobgay at the ceremony, emphasizing the shared commitment to sustainability and long-term value in the partnership.

The Adani Group’s collaboration with Bhutan includes the development of 5,000 MW of hydropower projects, signifying a deepening of ties between the two entities. Adani Power and Bhutan’s DGPC formalized agreements for the 570 MW Wangchhu hydroelectric project, marking a significant step towards renewable energy initiatives. The project, operating on a BOOT model, is set to receive substantial investment for its establishment and related infrastructure.
