Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) announced on Wednesday that they have exceeded the significant milestone of handling 500 million tonnes of cargo. Starting as a single port vision in 1998, APSEZ has expanded to encompass 19 ports and terminals in India and beyond, playing a crucial role in facilitating India’s trade and industrial growth.

Gautam Adani, the Chairman of Adani Group, expressed gratitude towards customers, partners, and APSEZ members for their dedication in achieving this milestone. He also acknowledged the support of Central and State Governments in creating the foundation for APSEZ’s growth, emphasizing the role of ports in enhancing national confidence and competitiveness.

This accomplishment signifies a pivotal moment in APSEZ’s development and highlights India’s increasing infrastructure-led transformation. Beyond just a numerical achievement, it signifies the establishment of a top-tier logistics platform driven by long-term vision, operational efficiency, and national objectives.

Gautam Adani emphasized that APSEZ’s achievement of handling 500 million tonnes reflects their enduring confidence in India’s growth trajectory. The company’s focus now shifts towards the goal of managing one billion tonnes of cargo by 2030, while maintaining a commitment to building a world-class institution known for its scale, service quality, and national significance.
