The administration in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, has suspended Headmaster Mohammad Anzar Ahmad, Acting Headmaster Valesh Kumar, and Assistant Teacher Mohammad Gul Ejaz from the PM Shri School in Jalam Sarai village. This action follows allegations of promoting religious activities within the school. Basic Shiksha Adhikari Alka Sharma has issued the relevant suspension orders.
Acting on District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal’s directives, the headmaster and assistant teacher were suspended, and an FIR was lodged against them. Additional Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh mentioned that a complaint was filed by the Block Education Officer at Sambhal and Nakhasa police stations regarding the incident at PM Shri School in Jalam Sarai.
An FIR has been registered against the headmaster and assistant teacher under Sections 353(2) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the allegations of their involvement in religious activities. The police have initiated investigation proceedings, and further actions will be taken after reviewing the evidence during the investigation.
Officials reported that a video from the PM Shri School went viral on social media, prompting an inquiry by Block Education Officer Anshul Kumar. Students allegedly revealed that the teachers were promoting religious activities, including encouraging Hindu students to wear caps and girls to wear hijabs, as well as teaching them to perform ‘sajda’. Following the students’ statements, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari took suspension measures.
