Ahmedabad welcomed a new Regional Transport Office (RTO) at Subhash Bridge, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency in public transport services, as stated by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The modern RTO office, established by the state’s Ports and Transport Department, consolidates various vehicle and licensing services in one convenient location. This includes separate counters for both non-transport and transport-related vehicle services, new vehicle registrations, permits, fitness certification, and more.
Sanghavi, while addressing the attendees during the inauguration, emphasized the government’s dedication to offering technology-driven, transparent, and prompt services to the public. He highlighted that the new office would simplify services like driving license-related procedures, making them more accessible and user-friendly. A notable feature of the new facility is the automated driving test track, ensuring transparency in the license issuance process by granting licenses only to applicants meeting the required standards.
Furthermore, Sanghavi stressed the significance of collaboration between elected representatives and the administration to ensure the widespread availability of government services to all citizens. He urged visitors to contribute to maintaining the new premises, emphasizing that the cleanliness and organization of the office are collective responsibilities. The inauguration saw the presence of various dignitaries, including Urban Development Minister of State Darshana Vaghela, Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot, and other officials and local residents.
