AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami revealed significant changes within the party by replacing several senior leaders and sitting MLAs from their district secretary roles in Tamil Nadu. This move aims to fortify the party structure at the grassroots level and enhance control over district units amidst internal unrest following recent political events. Notable figures like Natham R. Viswanathan, S.P. Velumani, C.Ve. Shanmugam, R. Kamaraj, and C. Vijayabaskar have been relieved of their district responsibilities.
The reorganization also saw the removal of other key functionaries from district secretary positions, including P. Thangamani, K.P. Anbalagan, B. Benjamin, Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan, and S.T.K. Jakkaiyan. Additionally, a fresh list of district secretaries has been promptly appointed by Palaniswami, with R. Pasupathi taking charge in Villupuram and Se. Ma. Velusamy leading Coimbatore Suburban South.
Among the newly appointed district secretaries are V. Palanivel for Pudukkottai North, K.P.P. Baskar for Namakkal, R.D. Moorthy for Thiruvarur, and K.S. Ravichandran for Tiruvallur Central. Palaniswami emphasized the importance of cooperation from party members towards the newly appointed district secretaries to strengthen the AIADMK organization statewide.
