Air India has announced that starting March 29, all its domestic flight operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad will be relocated from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. This change impacts the airline’s schedule of 210 weekly domestic flights to and from Ahmedabad.
Terminal 2, where Air India’s international flights already operate, will now handle all arrivals and departures for the airline. A spokesperson for Air India highlighted that Terminal 2 offers upgraded passenger facilities aimed at enhancing convenience and comfort for travelers. The airline is actively communicating this terminal change to passengers to ensure a seamless transition.
Spread across 49,000 sq. m, Terminal 2 features 52 check-in counters, self-baggage drop kiosks, immigration counters, Fast Track Immigration e-gates, and various retail and dining options. Air India has initiated notifications to passengers regarding the terminal switch through SMS, email, and other direct channels.
Passengers are advised to verify their terminal details before reaching the airport to avoid any last-minute inconveniences. The Air India group, comprising both full-service and low-cost carriers, operates a fleet of over 300 aircraft serving numerous domestic and international destinations worldwide.
