The final rites of Mohini Mani, the mother of Tamil cinema star Ajith Kumar, took place in Chennai with the presence of family, relatives, film personalities, and well-wishers. Mohini Mani, aged 84, passed away due to age-related ailments after undergoing treatment for health complications. Ajith Kumar, a prominent actor and car racer, rushed back from Dubai upon hearing the news to be with his family.
The actor had previously faced a personal loss in 2023 with the passing of his father, P. Subramaniam, after a prolonged illness. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay visited Ajith Kumar’s residence to offer condolences and spent time with the grieving family. Various figures from the Tamil film industry, including R. Sarathkumar, Nassar, and Trisha Krishnan, also paid their respects to the family.
The funeral procession for Mohini Mani started from Injambakkam and proceeded to the Besant Nagar Crematorium, with Ajith Kumar leading the way. At the crematorium, Ajith Kumar performed the final rites as per family customs, with relatives, friends, and film industry members in attendance. The passing of Mohini Mani has elicited an outpouring of support and condolences from fans, political leaders, and celebrities, reflecting the deep respect for Ajith Kumar and his family.
