AJUP chief Humayun Kabir commended the newly appointed West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, expressing confidence in his governance for the people. Kabir expressed happiness over the formation of the BJP-led government in Bengal, aiming to replace Mamata Banerjee’s administration. He highlighted the people’s decisive vote for political change in the state.
Kabir lauded Adhikari’s experience, citing his previous role as LoP, and expressed optimism in his ability to lead a government that prioritizes the welfare of the citizens. Adhikari, who became the first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal, took office on Saturday, signifying a significant political transition in the state.
In addition to Adhikari, five other MLAs were sworn in as ministers in the new Council of Ministers, including Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Kshudiram Tudu, and Nisith Pramanik. The swearing-in ceremony, administered by Governor R. N. Ravi, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior NDA leaders, Union ministers, and Chief Ministers from various states.
Adhikari’s victory in both Nandigram and Bhabanipur constituencies during the recent Assembly elections, notably defeating former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur, has drawn attention. The BJP’s triumph in West Bengal marks a significant political shift, ending the Trinamool Congress’s rule. Supporters of the new government view the mandate as a call for administrative reform and stronger governance.
