Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, hosting a Mumbai-themed episode of Wheel of Fortune, expressed his deep bond with the city, stating, “Mumbai shahar ne bahut kuch diya hai.” He fondly recalled his arrival in Mumbai at the age of three in 1970, reminiscing about his early days in a chawl in Sion Koliwada. Kumar praised the city, saying, “Ye kamaal ka shahar hai, iske mitti ke ander ek aisi cheez hai ki ye kisi ko bhi neeche se ek dum upar fek deti hai.”
He shared insights into his modest beginnings, mentioning the challenges he faced with a monthly rent of 75 rupees in his initial days. Despite the difficulties, he expressed gratitude for his journey from those humble beginnings to now residing in Juhu.
