The Albert Ekka Brigade, known for its role in the 1971 India-Pakistan war from Tripura, celebrated its 56th Raising Day in Agartala with reverence. The Brigade, now stationed at Agartala Military Station, honored its history and service to the nation with solemn ceremonies.
During the event, a wreath-laying ceremony paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. The Brigade, which holds the distinction of receiving top gallantry awards, played a crucial role in the Battle of Gangasagar during the war.
Brigadier Dheeraj Singh commended the Brigade for its professionalism and dedication to duty, emphasizing its contributions to national security and peace. The troops were urged to uphold the Indian Army’s values and continue serving the nation with honor and devotion.
The celebrations concluded with interactions among officers and troops, fostering camaraderie and reaffirming the Brigade’s readiness to face future challenges. Defence analyst Manas Paul highlighted the significance of the 1971 war, which led to the birth of independent Bangladesh.
