Alex Marquez of BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP secured a remarkable victory at the 2026 Grand Prix of Spain in Jerez, achieving back-to-back wins at his home GP. The race witnessed Marc Marquez from Ducati Lenovo Team crashing out of second place on Lap 2 in Spain.
Marco Bezzecchi’s winning streak came to an end, but he clinched P2, maintaining a strong position in the championship. Fabio Di Giannantonio of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team finished third, moving up to third place in the standings.
Starting from pole, Marc Marquez took the lead, with Bezzecchi quickly moving to P2. Alex Marquez, the 2025 Spanish GP winner, advanced to P2 behind Marc Marquez after a skillful maneuver at Turn 9.
Alex Marquez swiftly overtook Marc Marquez at Turn 6, establishing his dominance in the race. However, Marc Marquez faced misfortune on Lap 2, crashing out at Turn 11, resulting in an early exit from the race for the second consecutive year in Jerez.
As the race progressed, Alex Marquez extended his lead over Bezzecchi, with Di Giannantonio moving up to P3. Despite challenges from other riders, Alex Marquez maintained his lead, controlling the gap to secure a commanding victory.
