The All India Football Federation expressed condolences on the passing of former Indian midfielder Mohan Singh, who died recently. Mohan Singh, known for his skills, represented India in the early 1970s, earning three caps during the 1972 Pre-Olympic campaign. AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey praised Singh’s contribution to Indian football, highlighting his performances for the national team and various clubs.
Mohan Singh also excelled at the domestic level, playing a crucial role for Bengal in the 1972 Santosh Trophy where he scored two goals to help Bengal secure the title. His successful stints with East Bengal and Mohun Bagan showcased his talent, with notable achievements in various competitions. Singh’s time with East Bengal saw him win multiple titles, including the Calcutta Football League and IFA Shield.
Apart from his achievements with East Bengal, Mohan Singh also made significant contributions to Mohun Bagan, winning the Durand Cup in 1974. He continued his football career with Mohammedan Sporting Club in 1976, leaving a lasting impact on Indian club football.
