Aman Raj, a Patna golfer, has taken a strong lead in the new 2026 season after shooting an impressive 8-under 64 at the Chandigarh Golf Club, reaching a total of 11-under. Despite finishing second last year in the IGPL Order of Merit, narrowly missing the top spot, Aman Raj is now positioned for a winning start this season.
Last season, Aman Raj won twice and was just behind Pukhraj Singh Gill in the race for the IGPL Order of Merit by a small margin of less than Rs. 9,000. Reflecting on his performance, Aman acknowledged the skill of Gaganjeet Bhullar, a highly successful Indian golfer, stating that Bhullar’s consistency is remarkable and he can make a strong comeback from any challenge.
Aman Raj, sharing insights on his game, mentioned starting with a challenging first hole but managing to birdie it. Despite facing some difficulties off the tee, his exceptional short game propelled him to a successful round. Looking ahead, Aman emphasized the need for greater consistency and adaptation to overcome lingering minor issues.
Bhullar, a prominent figure in Indian golf, expressed optimism about the upcoming season despite facing challenges in converting birdie opportunities in the initial rounds. Notably, Bhullar’s impressive track record includes three wins in 2025 and a notable third-place finish in the IGPL Order of Merit last year.
