Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has taken on the role of Head of Cricket Operations for the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). Rayudu aims to combat the long-standing issue of corruption within the association. He expressed his enthusiasm for nurturing cricketing talent in Hyderabad and Telangana to enhance the pool of players for national representation.
Rayudu, known for his stints with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, emphasized the urgent need to tackle corruption within the HCA. He plans to introduce a player contract system similar to that of the Mumbai Cricket Association to modernize and streamline cricket operations, minimizing human interference.
In a bid to elevate cricket standards, Rayudu intends to establish a center of excellence modeled after the one in Bengaluru. Having commenced his cricketing journey in Hyderabad, Rayudu aims to steer clear of politics and concentrate on promoting cricket within the state. He emphasized that player welfare is his top priority, underscoring his commitment to their well-being.
