Union Home Minister Amit Shah honored social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy on his birth anniversary, praising Roy’s enduring influence on India’s social progress and nation-building efforts. Shah credited Roy as a key figure in the Indian Renaissance, lauding his efforts in combating social ills and shaping modern India through initiatives like the Brahmo Samaj. Additionally, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also commemorated Roy, acknowledging his pivotal role as a trailblazer of modern India.

On the occasion of Raja Ram Mohan Roy’s birth anniversary, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recognized Roy’s contributions to rational thinking and modern education. Adityanath highlighted Roy’s leadership in steering society away from superstitions and regressive practices towards enlightenment and progress. Raja Ram Mohan Roy, born in 1772 in Bengal, is renowned as a significant figure in India’s social reform movements and the founder of the Brahmo Samaj.
